For many children, the exams are just one more test throughout the course, however, for others it involves a process of stress and anxiety that not only can paralyze them before the exam or perform less, but also sometimes affects them physically causing headaches or stomach aches.
Approximately, between 15% and 25% of schoolchildren suffer a high level of anxiety before an exam. However, if we help them control their nerves and fears, they can overcome the course without problems and without their health suffering.
Anxiety before an exam is a state of the child in which it consumes a high dose of energy and may have physical discomfort and a change in behavior. This anxiety manifests itself in different ways:
- Children often think that they will not make it to the exam or that they will be blank and will not be able to pass.
- They may have palpitations, sweating, digestive problems, insomnia, vomiting or headaches.
- Sometimes they show changes in behavior and feel irritated and angry for no apparent reason.

2. Teach your child relaxation techniques. Breathing deeply and exhaling in a relaxed manner several times helps you relax. 5. Teach the child to acquire good study habits to be well prepared for tests and to do general reviews of the information before the day of the test.
6. Take care of the child's diet and health so that he is prepared with energy.
7. On the day of the exam, go to school early and calmly to avoid last minute fears and it is not convenient to talk about the subject.
8. Explain to the child that before starting to answer the test, they have to practice deep breathing and think positive.
9. During the exam, you must read all the questions well before answering and start with the one you know best, then the next one you know well and so on. In case of remaining blank, it is preferable to leave the answer for later and continue with another. If you have time, you should check the answers as well as the spelling and writing at the end of the exam.
